Course Overview: This annual training reinforces the core responsibilities of investigators, adjudicators, supervisors, and support personnel in safeguarding sensitive information throughout the background investigation and adjudication process. The course focuses on the secure handling, storage, transmission, and protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), while addressing common risk areas and real-world scenarios that can result in inadvertent disclosure or misuse.
Participants will also receive a focused refresher on Indian Country regulatory requirements governing background investigations and adjudications, emphasizing ongoing compliance obligations, professional accountability, and the integrity of the adjudicative process. This training satisfies the FBI’s Level I Security Awareness training requirement and supports continued adherence to federal information protection standards.
Upon completion, participants will have a renewed understanding of their confidentiality obligations and practical tools to protect individuals, safeguard sensitive information, and maintain public trust.
