Compliant Background Investigations for Law Enforcement and Corrections Positions

Duration: 2-3 – Hours (depending on learning style)

Audience:
Human Resources teams, public safety and law enforcement executive teams, correctional administrative teams, administrative professionals, and others involved in background investigations and personnel security processes.

Course Overview:
This training is dedicated to the investigative standards outlined in the Indian Country Law Enforcement Regulations.   The training session is created to help participants understand their duties and learn how to meet investigative requirements in line with the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act. At the end of the training, there will be a Final Test to assess what you’ve learned. 

Upon successfully completing this session, participants will possess a proficient understanding of the background investigation process. They will be capable of conducting compliant employee background investigations on behalf of Tribal Law Enforcement Programs, contributing to the safety and well-being of the communities they serve.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the investigative standards required under the Indian Country Law Enforcement Regulations.
  • Describe their roles and responsibilities in conducting background investigations for law enforcement and corrections positions.
  • Apply investigative requirements consistent with the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA).
  • Conduct compliant employee background investigations for Tribal law enforcement and corrections programs.


Certification:

Participants will receive a certificate of completion. Some courses may include a final exam (passing score: 75%).
