Compliant Background Investigations for Child Care Positions

Duration: 3 – 5 – Hours (depending on learning style)

Audience:
Human Resources teams, school administrative teams, school board members, tribal healthcare clinics and healthcare administrators, child welfare and foster care staff, administrative professionals, and others involved in background investigations and personnel security processes.

Course Overview:
This training focuses on the investigative standards identified under the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.  The training session is designed to teach participants their responsibilities as well as teach how to implement investigative requirements in support of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act.  The training concludes with a Final Test.   After completion of the training session, participants will have a working understanding of the background investigation process and be able to conduct compliant employee background investigations on behalf of the Tribal Organizations and communities they serve.  

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Explain the investigative standards required under the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (ICPFVPA).
• Identify participant responsibilities in conducting compliant employee background investigations.
• Apply investigative requirements that support the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA).
• Conduct background investigations that meet federal and Tribal compliance standards.

Certification:
Participants will receive a certificate of completion. Some courses may include a final exam (passing score: 75%).
