Fingerprint Certification Training

This 1-day training session focuses on the requirements for protecting fingerprint based criminal history reports and the proper techniques for capturing fingerprints via hard card submission and/or live can submissions. The training will also include an overview of fingerprinting history and instruction on how to properly complete fingerprint submissions. The session offers hands-on instruction on taking a set of clear and legible fingerprints for processing. After completion of the training, attendees will be provided FBI approved forms, be able to take fingerprints and properly perform basic classification of fingerprints.

This in-person event is a training opportunity for the hard card fingerprint rolling and Livescan workstation machines.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion upon meeting course requirements. The certification process includes:

• A final exam with a required passing score of 80%.
• A hands-on demonstration of fingerprinting skills, where students must successfully capture legible prints.

This training meets the FBI annual training requirement for FBI Authorized recipients.
